Some more calf pics

Them little calves grew up.

Above is that litle red calf, remember him. He is gonna make some fine steaks.
One for all and all for one.
Hmmm, what do you think he is thinking?
This is our purebred Simmental heifer. She has some spirit let me tell ya.
Here is my 4th cousen onmy moms side sawthing our rye for us. It is an awesome crop this year. This spot would also make a great veiw from our new house if we retire here, dontcha think.
Below are 2 of our spring calves. The little black lady on the left is an angus. The little brute on the right is a Normande and Angus cross bred.
Some of the cattle coming up for supper.
Good shot of the Normande cross

New Holiday

Every 14th of February you get the chance to display your fondness for your wife or girlfriend by showering her with gifts, flowers, dinner, shows and any other baubles that women find romantic.
Secretly...guys feel left out. That's right...left out. There's no special holiday for the ladies to show their appreciation for the men in their life. Men as a whole are either too proud or just too embarrassed to admit it. This is why a new holiday has been created.
March 20th is now officially 'Steak, Whoopie & Shut the Heck Up Day.'
Simple, effective and self-explanatory...this holiday has been created so you ladies can have a day to show your man just how much you love him.
No cards, no flowers, no special nights on the town the name of the holiday explains it all...just a steak, a BJ & shut your mouth for the rest of the day! That's it!
This twin pairing of Valentine's Day and Steak, Whoopie & Shut the Heck Up Day will usher in a new age of love as men everywhere will try THAT much harder in February to ensure a more memorable March!
It's like a perpetual love machine.
The word is already spreading, but as with any new idea, it needs a little push to start the ball rolling. So spread the word, and help bring love and peace to this crazy world.

Our New Cows

Well the cows are home. I ended up passing on a few of my first pics due to the fact that their temperment was not great when we started handling. So I decided to pick my cows based solely on there behavior and last calf's. I could not be happier with how they are. They walked off the trailer and have been relaxed ever since. After only being here a few hours and with not knowing me or my smells, I was able to walk right in with them and feed hay. Today, The brown one even ate hay from my hand. They arent harrassing the younger calves, they dont confront me at all and are not jumpy when I am in the yard with them . They are all carrying thier 2nd calf , with the exception of the Normande, are bred to Red Angus, and should start calving 1st week of April.

Here is a red angus cross (center)
far right is a charlios/red angus cross, with a bit of Pinzgauer

Brownish heifer in center should be Black Angus/Charlios
with possibly some Shorthorn in her . The fat red calf in the
bottem left is a Swedish Red/Hostien calf. He's gonna be an
awesome steer.

Below is another Red Angus with a bit of Pinzgauer left in her. She is a nice looking cow as well.

Pic of 3 cows and one of this summers bottle calves

Nice pic of 3 of the cows. Cow on Right looks great in my opinion.

I really wasnt worried about her color

Poor picture of the Charlios cross, she is a heavy bodied Blondie. Her 1st calf was one of the finest in the bunch

Below is Grandma, she's on her 4th calf, but she a very gentle laid back cow. She is a Normande cross with Simmental I believe.
